About the Project

Create Yourself to Be Yourself is a personal development initiative led by Hazel Bet Hill, a Marketing major with a minor in Project Management at the University of Hartford.

This project is deeply personal—born from my own journey of self-creation, resilience, and growth. I know what it’s like to feel the weight of external pressures, to question my path, and to wonder if I had the power to shape my future. Through this project, I want to show that you do. Create Yourself to Be Yourself exists to help others, especially young women, take control of their stories, build confidence, and design lives that align with who they truly are.

More than anything, this project is inspired by my eight younger siblings. They are a constant reminder of why it’s so important to step into your power, own your identity, and create a future on your terms. My hope is that this work not only empowers them but also inspires anyone who has ever felt unsure of where they belong to realize they have the ability to create themselves and a life they’d

Why This Project Matters

Many young women face societal pressures and uncertainty about their futures. Create Yourself to Be Yourself aims to change that narrative by encouraging intentional action and self-empowerment. This project seeks to create a supportive community where participants feel equipped to pursue their ambitions confidently.

Project Mission

The core mission of Create Yourself to Be Yourself is to guide young women in:

1.) Building confidence in their value and contributions.
2.) Crafting their personal brand and effectively communicating it.
3.) Setting and achieving goals with intentionality and structure.

By combining self-reflection with actionable tools, this project fosters adaptability and ongoing personal growth, helping participants design their lives with purpose.
