About the Project

Create Yourself to Be Yourself is a personal development initiative led by Hazel Bet Hill, a Marketing major with a minor in Project Management at the University of Hartford.

This project is designed to empower young women by providing them with the tools, strategies, and confidence to intentionally shape their personal and professional futures. Hazel’s journey of self-creation, resilience, and growth fuels this initiative, aiming to inspire others to take control of their lives rather than merely reacting to circumstances.

Why This Project Matters

Many young women face societal pressures and uncertainty about their futures. Create Yourself to Be Yourself aims to change that narrative by encouraging intentional action and self-empowerment. This project seeks to create a supportive community where participants feel equipped to pursue their ambitions confidently.

Project Mission

The core mission of Create Yourself to Be Yourself is to guide young women in:

1.) Building confidence in their value and contributions.
2.) Crafting their personal brand and effectively communicating it.
3.) Setting and achieving goals with intentionality and structure.

By combining self-reflection with actionable tools, this project fosters adaptability and ongoing personal growth, helping participants design their lives with purpose.

The memories of the past feels like quicksand pulling you into the center of the earth. The strength of the sand encompasses you with every move you make. So, to avoid the pain and struggle you stay still. Afraid of moving and awakening the quicksand of the past in your mind.

The past holds constraints of your future despite your every effort to ignore it. Why? You are afraid to move. When you move you feel the sand.

You can break free of the quicksand when you realize the power and strength you have within yourself. Some call it the perspective of your locus of control.

I call it the ultimate freedom and control.

Get out of the sand and see your strength.
